DSD Dance Center Policy

Student Conduct

Studio Policy 2021-2022

  • Students must stay inside the building while waiting for a parent or guardian to pick them upon completion of all of their class(es).

  • Family and friends are not permitted in the classrooms unless invited.

  • Gum, food, and drink are not permitted in the classrooms.  Water bottles are permissible.  No snacks at all in the waiting area.  Please leave the changing room and waiting area clean at all times.

  • Preschool Combo students and older must be toilet-trained.  They should use the bathroom before class begins.

  •  Please leave personal electronics and jewelry at home.  DSD Dance Center is NOT responsible for lost or stolen property.

  • Class placement is at the discretion of DSD staff. Advancement is not necessarily by classes as a whole.  If a student shows unusual progress during the year, the instructor may recommend the student to a more appropriate class regardless of age or number of years of study.

  • Proper dance attire is required for each class. Please see class descriptions.

  • The Tuition is one price broken into 4 installments paid at registration, November 15th, 2021, January 15th, 2022, and March 15th, 2022. A $15.00 surcharge for late payment will be enforced for payments received 10 days after the due date.  A $25.00 service charge will be charged for checks returned unpaid by the bank.

  • If a class is to be missed, please notify the studio.  If three consecutive classes are missed without parental notification, the student will be dropped from enrollment.

  • Make-up classes are available and must be taken within two weeks of missed classes.  No refunds, credits or adjustments will be given for classes missed.

  • The school reserves the right to drop a registrant from enrollment for:  (a) non-payment of tuition or other charges, (b) disruptive behavior, (c) excessive lateness and/or absences, and (d) improper dance attire.

  • Classes with six or less students are subject to cancelation or shortening of class time.  DSD Dance Center reserves the right to alter or cancel class schedules, for any reason, either temporarily or permanently, without fault.

  • DSD basically follows the Bellmore-Merrick CHSD in terms of holidays and emergency weather closings.  DSD emergency weather closings will be confirmed by email and on our Facebook page.

  • Recital costume deposit, balance and tuition must be received by the specified due dates in order for a dancer to participate in recital.

  • Parent/Guardian signature is required on registration forms for students under the age of 18.

  • The following behavior will not be tolerated by any visitor to the studio : Any comparison of abilities of dancer(s) - no two students are the same, and those differences are to be appreciated, not critiqued!

  • Each family enrolled in DSD Dance Center must have a card on file if not choosing to pay in full. If an installment is not paid 10 days after the due date, the card on file will be charged for Tuition amount due with late fee of $15.00.
